Semi - Antique Persian Isfahan.
Woven in Esfahan—a major rug-weaving center and a great center of art located in western central Iran--this semi-antique beauty combines charm with elegance. As many as 50 different colors have been used in this work of art; yet the dominant colors are ivory in the background, red in the mihrab, and navy for the border. The elegant design is a one-directional vase mihrab design with multicolored Shah Abbasi flowers branching out of the vase. Islimi motifs (intertwining leaves, stems, vines and blossoms) are used inside the mihrab (a niche in a mosque facing Mecca). The elegantly woven vase is also designed with islimi motifs.
